Not the typical YA UF story. Yes, there are shape-shifters but they don't shift into wolves. Nope, they acquire the appearance of people they have had skin to skin contact with. The longer the contact the more details the shifter acquires. Memories, training and even clothes including pocket contents. It is a novel approach and the author did well with it.
Plot, story line, action and characters make quite a cohesive whole. I enjoyed this book a lot and look forward to the next one in the series Dance of the Pink Mist after I finish the books I'm reading now.
This is my first book by K.D.Van Brunt but not my last.
